About Us

Gillian Waters is an experienced educator with substantial experience of classroom, online and museum education, having taught in schools, universities and museums for over 25 years.

Gillian continually develops her professional expertise through training & research, and has returned to formal education as a life-long learner many times.

She has worked with national and local museums and archives, historic houses and festivals. Gillian also managed the Northern Museums Volunteer Pass for Museum Development North, and has been commisioned by other museums and historic houses to work on a variety of projects, including training, planning, evaluation and resource creation.

Gillian has created and taught a range of face-to-face and online History and Heritage courses for the Centre for Lifelong Learning at University of York. These included accredited and unaccredited 10-11 week courses as well as Day Schools.

Gillian is also a practising Family and Local Historian, and has a research website at Deep Waters . She regularly teaches an on-line course in Medieval Genealogy with Pharos Tutors.

She is currently working on creating a series of new courses for adult leisure learners.
