The name Horner is an occupational name, and by the 1400s there were many different Horner families in the Craven and Nidderdale area.
Many Horners originated from Nidderdale, and migrated to Otley, York , Skipton and Coverdale.
After briefly looking at the spread of early Horner families in this area this talk also explores the stories of the orthern Horners who migrated to Somerset, and allegedly inspired the “Little Jack Horner” nursery rhyme.
