Who was Arthur and did he really exist at all? Of the many sixth century Arthurs, which one is THE ARTHUR?
This course will examine the evidence for an historical Arthur, the different contenders, and how the story was transmitted and changed into a tale for all times.
We will explore how the stories of Arthur were used by successive monarchs to give support to their rule, and how the stories have reinterpreted.
